I chose this picture to represent the joy and fun my dad and I had during our vacation here, since i mean.. Just look at our faces.
This picture was taken in St Hilarion, an ancient castle in Kyrenia. We had an amazing view, hurting feet from all the stairs and sore abdominal muscles from all the laughter.
We were laughing so much thanks to my overly vibrant imagination.
I imagined myself living in this castle in a former life. I was the princess waiting for my day of coronation to become queen of the entire island. Obviously reigning required much of my energy which is why I needed to provide for some entertainment in this story and make up a harem. Yes, right. Sandra's Harem of meticulously chosen male human beings in the shape of Adonis and the brains of scientists.. Since, i mean, we needed to keep it interesting and intellectually challenging to some degree. :)
Anyways, i believe my dad was impressed by this so very thoroughly imagined story of my past life so he laughed in love and admiration. (that's what I like to tell myself). It could also be plausible that he was hiding the doubts on his offspring behind a gallant laughter ... I prefer the first version, though. You choose yours 😂😂

Our trip started on october the 2nd 2018. Prior to my report on the following day experiences, I'll provide you with some background information: We actually won this trip so when checking our flight duration, we were very much astonished by the fact that it indicated 9 hours ! Supposedly there ought to be direct flights to Cyprus. (according to my research)
We later found out that we were traveling to Northern Cyprus. It is not possible to fly directly to a city in Northern Cyprus from Europe, you will need to stopover in Istanbul, since Turkey is the only country directly flying into the northern part of Cyprus. Due to history and a lot of conflict which I will elaborate on later on.
Northern Cyprus, officially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), is a de facto state comprising the northeastern portion of the island of Cyprus. Recognised only by Turkey, Northern Cyprus is considered by the international community to be part of the Republic of Cyprus.
